Lessons From A Coffee Shop

i think that possibly
coffee is a metaphor.

coffee can be big or small,
coffee can be dark or light,
coffee can be extravagant or simple,
coffee can be for the morning or the night,
coffee brings joy and laughter.

and still not everyone loves coffee;
some people hate the taste,
some people hate the smell,
some people hate dark roasts,
some people hate light roasts,
some people need cream,
some people drink it black.

every single person is different,
just like all the different types of coffee.
but appearance isnt everything;
it's what your made of that counts.

you are full of joy,
you are full of love,
you have a passion burning in your soul.

coffee isn't made without
grinding the beans,
mixing the flavors,
filtering out the grains,
and patience.

you aren't formed without
the pain in your struggles,
the mixing of emotions,
the filtering out failures,
and lots of patience.

in both situations,
something beautiful is formed.
in the end you are changed,
a new person ready to take on the world.
